
Everyone loves a bit of a riddle. Childhood memories of ‘Guess Who?’ on a Saturday morning. Well now you can play this and many other games using this colourful set of 2D shape cards and ask ‘What Shape Am I?’
How to use your ‘What SHAPE Am I?’ cards
Download your cards. Print them out double-sided onto card and cut out.
You may want to get yourself a set of 2D shapes to support your little learner further.
There are many ways you can use these cards.
GAME 1: Variation on Snap

Use the picture cards in one pile and the remaining cards in another.
Turn over a shape card.
Take turns to turn the cards in the other pile. Should the property match the shape card, the first to say, “SHAPE!” and touch the cards, wins those cards.
The player with the most cards at the end, is the winner.
GAME 2: Memory Game 1

Spread out the name and picture cards and turn them face down.
Players take turns to turn over 2 cards.
If they match the picture with the correct name, they win their cards. If they do not find a match, they must turn the cards back over and the next player takes their turn.
The player with the most cards at the end, is the winner.
GAME 3: Memory Game 2

Spread out the cards and turn them face down.
Players take turns to turn over 2 cards.
If they match the picture or name card with a property card, they win their cards. If they do not find a match, they must turn the cards back over and the next player takes their turn.
The player with the most cards at the end, is the winner.
You can remove cards that may not be suitable for younger learners.
GAME 4: Sort it!

Create 2 sets of cards.
Spread out the name and picture cards and turn them face down.
Players compete to match each shape with all of its properties.
Each shape has 7 cards to complete its set. The player to complete all sets first, wins.
You can remove cards that may not be suitable for younger learners.
GAME 5: What Shape Am I?

Use the name or picture cards.
Players select one at random.
They must ask the other player ‘yes’ or ‘no’ questions to find clues to guess the other player’s shape.
The player to guess the most shapes, is the winner.
