So you and your little reader have practised and have learned to read a variety of high-frequency words and are ready to start reading them within a sentence? Be sure to check out our Post-it Note High-Frequency Words Sentence Builders activity. This post has been created to help you come up with a few sentences to put together for that practise.

These sentences mix HFW and simple other words. The focus is on the HFW reading. Once your child is confident in reading these, you can always use trickier other words eg. Is it a cat? You can swap for Is it a house?
